Meet Our Pastor
Jason Foust has served as pastor of Zebedee Baptist Church since March 31, 2025. He and his wife, Bailey, have been married since March 29, 2008, and live in Bee Bayou, Louisiana.
Jason is committed to expository preaching—opening the Bible, working through Scripture verse by verse, and helping people understand and apply God’s Word. As he puts it, “Nobody needs to hear what the book of Jason Foust says. We need to hear what God’s Word says.”
Jason also works with adults with special needs. In his free time, he enjoys playing disc golf.
Zebedee Baptist Church was organized on October 9, 1938, when two groups meeting in the Smith and Greer schoolhouses came together to form a church. The congregation purchased one acre from the Mengel Company for $10 and used lumber from both schoolhouses to construct its first building. While construction continued, Sunday School classes met on stacks of lumber.
Rev. A. D. Langston served as Zebedee’s first pastor, and the building was dedicated on April 9, 1939. Over the years, the church expanded its worship services, teaching ministries, and facilities.
On February 24, 1984, fire destroyed the church building. With support from neighboring churches and the community, the congregation continued worshiping while rebuilding. On January 13, 1985, Zebedee held its first worship service in the new building, with both the building and its furnishings debt-free.
Through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, missions, and community ministry, Zebedee has continued sharing the gospel across generations. Members have also served in pastoral and missionary ministry, including mission work in Brazil.
Since 1938, the mission has continued: proclaiming God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ in Rayville and beyond.
